IPS Heart
Induced pluripotent stem (commonly known as IPS cells) can be divided in a lot of subcatagories. One of them is IPS heart cells, IPS heart cells mimic the myogenic heart beat of a cardiac muscular cell which does not require any nervous sytem or hormones to control its heart beat. In terms of application, iPS heart cells could be transplanted to repair damaged myocardium after a heart attack, restoring normal heart function.
Although the use of iPS heart cell are not commonly use as methods for treatment, the show of an iPS heart cell has revealed on the first time in Japan Osaka Kansai World Expo, Pasona Natrueverse Pavilion, during the year 2025. A video of the tissue is shown below.
Other than iPS heart, other potential iPS cells are myocardium sheet which serves the identical funcition to an iPS heart cell. Although clinical use is still under development, iPS heart cells hold great promise for personalised treatments and safer, more effective therapies for heart disease.
